SRAS Welcomes Grade 7 Batch 2020

There are forty-four new students joining the Afternoon School this year: 41 of them are incoming freshmen, 2 are sophomores and a junior. SRAS had two programs held to welcome the new members of the family.

To welcome the parents, an orientation was held last June 4, 2016. This is a school-wide activity that includes new parents from the other school units. The program started with an opening message from the new executive director Mr. Fernando Cruz. A briefing about the school's academic and personal formation followed. The speakers for this includes senior teachers Mr. Manny Escasa and Mr. Rutch Regencia. The parents then went to their assigned venues for their school unit orientation. The AS parents had theirs at the Conference Rooms A and B. More information about the Afternoon School were given to them. The half-day orientation ended with an advisory with the Grade 7 class adviser Mr. Rex Alcaraz and a shuttle service enrollment with Mr. Ver Asuncion.

For the students, an orientation was given on June 7-8, 2016. The orientation this year is different because it is coupled with diagnostic classes for the young blood. This is done to complement the National Achievement Test to be taken by them on July.

Day 1 activities included a Math class, campus tour and sports. The final day was a continuation of the diagnostic classes covering English, Science, Filipino and Social Studies subjects.

We are #1 in Muntinlupa!

Southridge Afternoon School is once again Rank #1 among private schools in Muntinlupa in the 2014-2015 National Achievement Test. This is courtesy of Batch 2015 Mighty Walrus. The feat has been an ongoing achievement of the AS since the rankings have been made public in 2011.

Blazing At 30!

This year marks Southridge Afternoon School’s 30th year. As we reflect and celebrate on the accomplishments of the past 29 years, it is clear that our school has continued its commitment to develop men of integrity in different fields. With the support of our teachers and parents, the successes of our students have placed the school on a path toward greatness.

This school year, we are lucky to have added two new teachers who will help in forming our students.

1. Mr. Jodel Maomay, a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Ateneo de Naga University, will be teaching Grade 7 Math, and Grades 8 and 10 Science. He will also be the assistant class adviser of Grade 10B. Prior to coming to Southridge, he has taught in Saint Joseph School in Naga City for six years and had worked in a business process outsourcing company for a year.

2. Mr. David Dyogi, a Southridge Afternoon School alumnus (Batch 2011), earned his Bachelor of Arts in Humanities at the University of Asia and the Pacific. He will be teaching Grades 8, 9 and 10 Religion and is also the assistant class adviser of Grade 10A.

Aside from our two new teachers, two Day School teachers will also be teaching in our unit. Mr. Jhester Sta. Ana will be teaching Grade 7 Religion and Mr. Ermil Gabuat will handle Grade 8 Math classes.
This year will be as special as the 29 years that our school has had. With the support of our virtuous and talented teachers, active and loyal parents and persevering and God-fearing students, we will be facing this year with heads up high and will strive to provide the best educational experience possible for our students. Our teachers will teach to the best of their ability every day, guiding our students on a path that will give them the skills necessary for a productive future. The curriculum will be rigorous and the standards will remain high but the students are assisted in achieving them excellently.

As what our main theme for this year’s anniversary upholds, we will all be Blazing @ 30!
